Abstract

The book Adaptive ELT Curriculum and Materials Development in
Indonesia is here as a response to the dynamics and complexity of
curriculum development and English learning materials in Indonesia.
The background for writing this book is based on the urgent need for a
comprehensive guide that not only discusses theory, but is also relevant
to the educational context in Indonesia, including the implementation of
the Independent Curriculum and the Love Curriculum. The main
purpose of this book is to equip educators, curriculum developers, and
students with an in-depth understanding and practical skills in designing
and developing adaptive and effective English teaching materials. The
scope of material in this book includes theoretical foundations, national
and religious curriculum policies, needs analysis, material development
strategies, and the use of technology and evaluation. This book is
intended for academics, education practitioners, students of English
education study programs, as well as anyone interested in the
development of English curriculum and teaching materials in Indonesia.
I hope that this book can be a valuable source of inspiration and
reference in an effort to improve the quality of English learning in the
country. I would like to thank all those who have contributed to the
completion of this book. Hopefully this book can make a real
contribution to the progress of English education in Indonesia and
become a bridge for new innovations in curriculum and teaching material
development.
